How many of us normally pack their own lunch from home. Our busy daily routine not many of us do so. Everytime during lunch, all we can think of what to eat....place to eat we normally went to restaurants / warung of our fav. As long the food tasty and its cheap. Do we ever thought of the food we eat whether it healthy a.k.a power food or not. Normally home cook food much healtier as we know what are the ingredients been used. Not much oil, no addtional flavoring or coloring etc. Speaking of healthy food intake..... I come across a statement pertaining BENTO.
what is Bento? I bet most of us who love Japanese food do aware of it. As example, at Sushi king there are Bento set been serve. what about this bento .....is it serve in small compartment container?

is a single-portion takeout or home-packed meal common in Japanese cuisine. A traditional bento consists of rice, fish or meat, and one or more pickled or cooked vegetables, usually in a box-shaped container. see See the Wikipedia for more details.
Bento name used in Japan but in other countries there are also similiar concept like here in Malaysia we still be able to see tiffin or mangkuk tingkat container but seldom do we see nowaday a person bring it along though. Other part of countries like the Korean dosirak, or the Filipino baon lunch.
what i like about bento is the divider container that good for my diet.
a.Divider container can control the portion of the food intake. General rule of packing for bento 3 parts carbs, 1 part protein and 2 parts fruits and vegetables. These absolutely no oily and junk food.
b.Save money- It's food from home and avoid we to spent at the restaurant.
It doesnt have to be Japanese food . it can be any sort of cuisine as long as no oil n junk. The only issues are not to pack the wet or moist dishes. Either it can be pack through drain or dry it first then only pack it on separated container. It seem tedious but speaking of healthy who wouldn't want it!
Besides think of balance and nutrient normally bento come in many varieties of color and textures which healthy lunch come with good visual too.To add variety of color i do see normally bento added few cherry tomatoes, cucumber, pickles and not to forget the many shape of cheese, egg etc.
